| Your FERRY between Spain and Morocco: FERRIMAROC operates a First Class ferry service, uniting Spain with the north eastern region of Morocco, on an all year round basis, During the summer season, and the corresponding peak traffic volumes, we offer up to 20 sailings weekly in each direction, between ALMERIA and NADOR. FERRIMAROC pioneered this route, commencing in November 1994, and has been offering a regular scheduled service ever since. The SCIROCCO was the first ferry to be operated on the route, and was joined by the much larger MISTAL in June 1997. Since those early days, every day more and more passengers entrust us with their maritime travel to Morocco. As a result, this route has expanded as customers discover the advantages over the more traditional routes in the Straight of Gibraltar; more than 680,000 passengers and 160,000 cars travelled between ALMERIA and NADOR during 2001. This has led to improved communication links between the Iberian Peninsula and the North-east Morocco area, as well as promoting the ports of Almería and Nador.
EMBARKING WITH FERRIMAROC The Port of Almería is situated approx. 3 kilometres from exit Nº 438 on the E15/N340 “Mediterranean Highway”, which links Barcelona with Malaga, via Valencia, Alicante and Almería. The exit is clearly signposted “Puerto”. This access to the port avoids having to cross the City of Almería. On your arrival in the Port, you can count on being met by the professional and pleasant staff of FERRIMAROC, who will assist you with all your shore-side requirements. Passengers travelling with their own car: If you have pre-booked and purchased a ticket, you should go straight to the FERRIMAROC office in the FERRIMAROC Pre-Embarkation zone. Here you may check-in, and will be assisted to park , according to your vehicle height. Embarkation takes place by vehicle height, and you will be called forward at the appropriate time. If you do not have a booking or a ticket for the next sailing, Port officials will direct you to the public car parks in use. You should then proceed on foot to one of the FERRIMAROC offices, either in the “TERMINAL MARITIMA” or in the Pre-Embarkation area – both are clearly signposted. Once you have a ticket for the next FERRIMAROC sailing, you should proceed to the FERRIMAROC Pre-embarkation zone with your vehicle. You will need passports for all passengers, and Vehicle registration documents, to check-in. Please bring these with you to the check-in desk. Foot Passengers: Foot Passengers should proceed to the “TERMINAL MARITIMA” to purchase tickets and/or check-in. Once checked-in, access to the Ferry or Passenger waiting lounges is via stairs and ramps inside the terminal. Check-In: If you have a confirmed reservation, with a booking number, you are guaranteed embarkation. You must, however, check-in at least TWO hours prior to sailing time, otherwise your place may be released. At peak times (Almería – Nador : 15/06 – 15/08, Nador – Almería: 25/07 – 15/09) , you must give yourself plenty of time as to ensure checking-in on time. WARNING: Beware that both ticket-touts and pickpockets operate within the port and Terminal buildings. Ticket-touts are often to be found when sailings are full, offering tickets at prices beyond face-value. This practice is illegal and should be reported. Please ensure your car is locked at all times, and take great care with valuables, especially money, and travel documents, including tickets and passports. RALLIES, will be attracted by the beautiful and extensive Saharan desert that lies within a short drive from Nador. ALMERIA – NADOR is the quickest entry point to the desert, and FERRIMAROC has carried the “Paris – Dakar Rally”, the “Atlas Rally”, the “Trophée Aïcha des Gazelles”, “Granada – Marrakesh Rally” and numerous others, both large and small over the years. Our repeat customers speak volumes for the confidence they hay in our services. Night sailings allow one to rest and arrive refreshed, shortening the journey. FERRIMAROC is able to provide on-board Moroccan passport and Customs control to “fast-track” formalities in Nador, and ensure more time to enjoy the scenery. Such services are free, but prior notice must be given. COACHES are also welcomed, and we are the chosen carrier for many scheduled operators. Drivers are well looked after, with their own personal check-in in the ports, and personal cabins on board to ensure adequate rest. FREIGHT:- (freight@ferrimaroc.com) The service offered by FERRIMAROC is ideal for road freight, saving drivers several hundreds kilometres driving on both sides of the Mediterranean. Drivers are offered personal cabins, with the 7 hour crossing allowing drivers a decent rest, with facilities to refresh themselves. The vessels themselves are equipped for a “drive through” operation which makes loading easier and quicker, with experienced crew securing the trucks.
